Information Security Analyst

Job Description

  • Manage and maintain SIEM appliance taking care of everything from incident response to environment/appliance care and feeding
  • Using Ambit’s current DLP technology help monitor, track and analyze records and incidents to ensure protection from any potential leaks or malicious activity
  • Responsible for 3rd party certificates and the system and processes that deliver them to 300+ users
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed
  • Participates in defining what is considered “sensitive data” and helps to classify all data within the organization
  • Maintains contact with vendors regarding security system updates and technical support of security products
  • Prepares recommendations and implements changes to work methods and procedures to make them more effective and/or to strengthen security measures
  • Provides management with risk assessments and information security training to uphold enterprise security measures
  • Maintains and manages vulnerability management systems to aid in risk assessments in day to day operations
  • Manages Internet and Intranet security based issues by performing firewall policy audits and reviewing security logs
  • Identifies control weaknesses, regulatory compliance issues, and potential areas of risk for all segments of the data processing and information technology business
  • Serves as a security resource to assist all departments with the research and/or implementation of security-related technologies and processes; Acts as go-to resource for all departments and assists them with information security and risk management activities.
  • Promotes improved data security through user awareness, education and training.
  • Ensures Ambit Energy employees are compliant with security
  • Develops technical solutions to the requirements of security projects
  • Serves as the technical subject matter expert and leads technical collaboration
  • Develops information security standards, policies and processes
  • Provides input into strategic decisions for the department
  • Coordinates large-scale projects
  • Full time physical attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Knowledge at the intermediate-expert level of current security risks, threats and vulnerabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; or a corresponding number of years’ experience in information security
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, vendors, and customers
  • Ability to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work
