Daily Job Responsibilities:

Information Security Analyst / COMSEC Custodian will coordinate day-to-day security tasks with IT and end users while minimizing disruptions and protecting Agency assets, as well as technical and administrative support for COMSEC accounts for a large government agency.
Position Overview :
Ensure Cybersecurity incidents are properly identified, analyzed, communicated, actioned/defended, investigated and reported.
Provide recommendations for additional security solutions or enhancements to existing controls to improve overall enterprise security infrastructure.
Maintain detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions.
Identify technical opportunities and risks to improve the overall security, quality, and resiliency of systems and applications.
Have the custodial, management, and customer support responsibility for all Agency COMESEC materials and equipment.
Coordinate performing equipment moves, coordinate the replacement of assets, maintain Agency documentation, and maintain up-to-date keys.
Position includes the following tasks :
Document, prioritize, and analyze security threats, incidents and key metrics.
Review daily and periodic data to identify, report and remediate vulnerabilities.
Create and track investigations to resolution according to established best practices.
Compose security alert notifications and other communications.
Participate in incident handling and response initiatives.
Advise incident responders in the steps to take to investigate and resolve computer security incidents.
Assist in the ordering, tracking, validation testing, training, handling and use of COMSEC equipment, materials, and keying material required for account establishment and transitions.
Serve as the officially appointed courier for all categories and classifications of COMSEC material and equipment.
Monitor, track, and support COMSEC account inventory IAW National Security Agency (NSA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and service level policy.
Other tasks as assigned.
Degree Required/Equivalent Experience w/o degree:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
5+ years of specific and extensive in incident detection and response, malware analysis, or cyber forensics; Experience in COMSEC account, materials and equipment management experience; Information Technology (IT) background
DoD 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+)
IAT Level 1 Certification (A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP)
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP or CEH
