POSITION SUMMARY:
Gates Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a talented and team-oriented individual to fill the role of IT Manager, Infrastructure. In this role, you are responsible for providing technical leadership and drive the formulation of common IT Infrastructure technology roadmap relating to infrastructure components, particularly in the areas of data centers, server/storage system platforms, data protection, networks and enterprise cloud computing environment. You will have the opportunity to lead a skilled IT team, building technical solutions to deliver Infrastructure and technology services and projects to support business objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage a skilled IT Infrastructure team responsible for the overall architecture, hardware and software planning and design for traditional data centers, public & private clouds
Provide direction, management supervision, and leadership to a global team of IT professionals across many aspects of Gates on-premises, public and private cloud infrastructure in current and emerging technologies
Develop and execute on long-term technology strategy roadmaps. Continuously assess current technology footprint and market offerings, drive technology decisions, lead PoCs of new solutions/capabilities
Managing the IT Infrastructure solutions, operations and issues resolution with internal infrastructure team and external vendor
Develop and mentor the team to deliver daily support in an ITIL-based services environment. (Tactical)
Driving all aspects including tech refreshes, expansion, and upgrades of new infrastructure, coordination for the implementation & deployment, equipment maintenance and documentation of guidelines, test plans & work procedures
Developing, implementing, maintaining and participating in all required aspects of program and project management. Assure that all the projects and changes comply with IT governance, program and project management standards, IT service standards and policies, and support business strategies
Provide technical leadership and direction for the overall management of multiple infrastructure technology domains and project initiatives. Technology domains may include server platforms & OS (Windows / Linux), cloud computing services, virtualization technologies, network, storage technologies and backups, collaboration and communication technology platforms
Work closely with IT Security to ensure the solutions designed and delivered meet data security and compliance requirements
Take ownership and provide coordination of IT financial budget planning (CapEx and OpEx)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will have direct reporting line into the Global IT Infrastructure Director and serve as a key member of the IT Infrastructure leadership team. He / She will manage a team of corporate IT Infrastructure engineers as well dotted line oversight for the regional infrastructure engineers located in Americas, EMEA and APAC
Work with Portfolio Heads and Application Suite Owners to plan and implement initiatives to ensure a cost effective, high performing, reliable and available global IT infrastructure
Conducts performance management activities for direct reports and ensures that processes are followed, KPIs are met
Develops and maintains hiring standards and training/development programs to ensure that IT Infrastructure department maintains a high level of technical skill and proficiency

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in systems and computer sciences or related field
Professional certification and experiences such as MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VCP, ITIL, PMP is advantageous
More than 10 years of working experience in IT Infrastructure domain, out of which about 10 years of experience in leading and managing teams of IT professional
More than 5 years of strong experience in IT contracts and vendor management
More than 5 years of experience in managing 24×7 enterprise IT Infrastructure environment, planning, and operations
Proven track record in managing complex and large-scale IT projects that involve vendor(s), business users and internal IT team working together collectively to deliver results
Experience in championing, managing and delivering large transformation projects
Strong knowledge and technical understanding of Infrastructure technologies and cloud native platforms

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum 5 years of experience in all aspects of cloud computing (compute, storage, platforms, etc.)
Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and delivery of large-scale infrastructure solutions
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in setting technology strategy, roadmaps, and engineering
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the following areas:
Server Operating Systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, etc.)
Virtualization Platforms (e.g. HyperV, VMware, etc.)
Public Cloud Platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.)
Platform and Infrastructure-as-a-service solutions
Collaboration and Communication Technology Platforms (e.g. Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, etc.)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, oral, written, and team skills
Exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving skills. Strong analytical mind
Ability to lead people by example with a strong work ethic and focus on achieving goals.
Sound knowledge and thorough understanding in disaster recovery and business continuity implementation

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The person filling this position will be called outside of normal business hours to support IT projects, or otherwise be called upon to support IT functions within the responsibility of the position.

This position performs work on a global basis. There will be a need to coordinate with locations outside of the United States. This will require traveling, discussions and meeting attendance outside of normal time zones for Denver.
