POSITION Information Technology Manager
OBJECTIVE Provide technology leadership of I.T. support services, including contracts, hardware specifications, telecommunications, network infrastructure, data center, mobile devices, and helpdesk support.
LOCATION Grand Rapids, MI Corporate Headquarters & Manufacturing Facility

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Qualified candidates will possess the following Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Information Technology
  • Four years of management experience in Information Technology, including configuring hardware and software within a corporate computing environment
  • Willingness and ability to keep up to date on current technical trends
  • Ability to explain technical issues in a manner that all users can understand
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service and collaborative skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and drive on-time completion of program a high degree of detail
  • Exceptional professional attributes, including self-motivation, dependability, and confidentiality
  • Ability to build effective work relationships
  • Demonstrated growth potential, by having achieved previously established goals, learning new skills, and proven strategic thinking
  • An excellent work record, including attendance, with ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional weekends, nights, and holidays

DESCRIPTION Pridgeon & Clay has an opening for an Information Technology Manager to oversee its Corporate Information Technology team. Essential Functions include:

Personnel/Workforce Management (20%):

  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team consisting of one or more Business Analyst, Network Engineer, Network Architect, Business Analyst, Progress Programmer, and Network Administrator.
  • Participate in future headcount forecasting and propose solutions for fluctuations.  Create requisitions, recruit, interview, hire and on-board new team members as needed.
  • Lead efforts to enhance team communication, including regular team meetings and status updates.
  • Notify team members of technical and training opportunities to promote development.
  • Provide consistent feedback to employees regarding job task performance and accomplishment of goals.  Address unacceptable performance by fairly administering disciplinary actions using the Company Employee Handbook.
  • Complete and present annual performance reviews for all direct report employees, outlining positive and negative performance, and documenting a plan of action for sub-par performers.

Information Technology Management (30%):   

  • Manage the productivity and impact of the Information Technology Help Desk Team, ensuring they have the tools and support to accomplish the set goals.
  • Define and manage technology infrastructure change management system.
  • Define and manage role based management systems for technology infrastructure.
  • Define and maintain service level agreements for Information Technology.
  • Create and execute preventative maintenance definitions and activities.

Network, Infrastructure, and Project Planning (30%):

  • Define and manage annual Information Technology budget.
  • Actively participate in new project planning within the Information Technology department.
  • Maintain appropriate backup equipment and consumable inventory.
  • Work with purchasing to negotiate and manage third party contracts for products and services.
  • Support Pridgeon & Clay’s network, infrastructure, and data, using best industry practices.

Teamwork/Professionalism (20%):

  • Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
  • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the necessary hours to perform the job.
  • Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area and department.
  • Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, TS16949, and safety regulations.
  • Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner. Perform any other activities as directed by the CIO.
