Microsoft will discontinue Internet Explorer in less than 24 hours, 27 years after the firm originally introduced the browser. It first appeared in 1995 as the web browser included with the Windows 95 operating system for PCs.Initially, users had to pay to acquire the browser, but it eventually became free as it became one of the most popular methods to access the internet.. Internet Explorer managed to endure until newer and quicker web browsers entered the market, and now that Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari are available, IE just cannot compete with the latest incarnation of web browser in the market.

The firm previously revealed in May that the web browser for certain versions of Windows 10 would be retired on June 15, 2022.Microsoft launched Edge in 2015, progressively replacing Internet Explorer.”Not only is Microsoft Edge a quicker, more secure, and more contemporary browsing experience than Internet Explorer,” the firm said in a statement. “It is also able to solve a critical concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and apps.”According to the Wall Street Journal, as of this month, According to online traffic company StatCounter, 28 percent of those who visit the web still use Internal Explorer. In comparison, around two-thirds of individuals use Google Chrome, while 18% use Apple’s Safari. The decision sparked outrage on social media on Tuesday.
