Internet in Stitches as Cat Rocks New Predator-Proof Vest | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing

A cat owner has gone viral after showing their new invention to keep their felines safe from coyotes when outdoors in a hilarious clip shared on social media.

The viral post, shared on TikTok on Sunday, under the username @oriental_shorthair_squad, shows two Oriental shorthaired cats, LeMieux and Zappa. Along with their brother Keebler, they are famous on the platform for their daily shenanigans, wearing an unusual jacket, which, their owner says, is meant to protect them from when outdoors.

A caption shared with the post reads: “The vest protects from coyotes and birds of prey. The whisker spikes are soft but make the cat look bigger.

“The vest also keeps my cats from jumping the fence and leaving their yard. Even though they are never outside unattended I would rather be safe than sorry.” The caption is followed by: “For everyone who wanted to see the cats in their harnesses and wonder what is their purpose.”

The Humane Society of the United States says that encounters with coyotes in urban or suburban areas are quite rare, and usually short and harmless. That is because coyotes usually feel scared by human presence and run away when they see us.

However, when coyotes don’t run away when seeing humans, it means they have likely become habituated to people who have fed them or keep feeding them. When coyotes start depending on humans for food, they can exhibit aggressive behavior toward us.

“Often, coyote attacks are preventable by modifying human behavior and educating people about ways to prevent habituation,” the Humane Society website states.

One user, Grwm.doooooop, commented: “Once when I came back outside to check on my chihuahua there was a hawk making circles around her I ran so fast and brought her in.”

And Silly Sadie + Iris posted: “My little pup potato was in the yard and he was not alone I was out with him and two hawks swooped towards him with their talons trying to catch him.”

Canadaeh wrote: “My dog wears this because she wants to fight coyotes. It also stops big dogs from bothering her.” And Mary,Mary added: “We need those here, eagles everywhere, taking little pets everywhere.”
