Job Title: IT Manager

Job Summary:

The Information Technology <x{(}>(</x{(}>IT) Manager plans and manages Information Technology operations. The IT Manager plans, directs and coordinates information systems and telecommunications operations within the company. In addition the IT Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and participates in application support activities, systems and development activities, and network and technical services activities. This person provides highly technical and responsible staff assistance, manages IT projects and budgets and serves as IT Department leader. The IT Manager will be responsible to research, analyze, recommend, procure, implement and maintain computer network systems, hardware and software to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime for the business and implement technological strategic solutions. Along with the IT Coordinator, the IT Manager will serve as a main point of contact on all IT related matters for the Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day to day IT operations:
    • Implement and manage network security as established by EMCOR policy
    • Monitor and administer the Company’s LAN and WAN
    • Effectively communicate relevant IT systems information to the CFO and the Executive Team in a timely fashion
    • Work closely with Executive Team to plan yearly budget and projects based on Company goals for the year
    • Determine the schedule of IT projects throughout the year
    • Work closely with Operations Managers to champion Information Technology within the company
    • Attend regular conference calls with EMCOR IT staff to keep them apprised of Company activities
  • Responsible for the IT Infrastructure and Operations:
    • Manage the process of changes effectively, while remaining on the forefront of emerging industry practice and products
    • Plan for future network needs and identify solutions to satisfy needs
    • Oversee and plan the management of the company communication system <x{(}>(</x{(}>telephone, voice-mail, email)
    • Prepare 1, 3 and 5 year technology plans for the site in conjunction with Dynalectric and EMCOR and strategic plans
    • Maintain an IT asset management program
    • Oversee and manage system troubleshooting, backups, archiving and disaster recovery and provide or procure necessary support
    • Maintain and test Business Continuity Plan in accordance with EMCOR IT Policies and implement necessary changes as identified
    • Ensure Compliance with EMCOR Records Retention Policies
    • Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors
    • Negotiate contracts with IT vendors in coordination with EMCOR and Dynalectric CEO, and Executive Team
    • Manage sensitive information to the highest level of confidentiality according to EMCOR IT and PSIP Policies
    • Monitor compliance with established Dynalectric Colorado and EMCOR policies and procedures and implement necessary changes as identified
  • Responsible for the Leadership and Supervision of IT staff:
    • Effectively lead, set direction and goals for IT staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
    • Plan for and participate in selection of IT staff


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, telecommunications or related field OR equivalent experience and training.
  • Five <x{(}>(</x{(}>5) or more years of technology management experience
  • Ten <x{(}>(</x{(}>10) plus years of high-level and working knowledge of technology infrastructure and servers with progressive management expertise to effectively support and maintain an enterprise network
  • Working knowledge of large desktop/laptop deployments including design, engineering and support of the desktop, desktop applications, desktop images, encryption, endpoint security and the associated systems of application delivery and group policies
  • Storage and information security background in line with industry standards including general principals of standard security audits and certifications
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and cultivate a dynamic and progressive and innovative technology environment
  • Strong leadership and proactive communication abilities to manage the team and performance levels within the department to maintain excellent service and standards
  • Skilled in conceptualizing, analyzing, developing and implementing creative solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of operations, systems and procedures
