IT Manager

Job Description The role of the IT Manager is to design, purchase, deploy, and manage all IT operations for the organization. The IT Manager oversees and manages the effective operation of the information technology throughout the organization to ensure strategic and operational alignment with Modern’s business objectives. The IT Manager will effectively resolve IT Data Services related issues, as well as plan, track, and monitor all IT related activities. 


  • Conduct system administration and maintenance for multiple locations through remote service 
  • Provide all facets of support to staff from beginning to resolution of any issues 
  • Install, manage, and maintain desktop computer systems 
  • Provide support and maintenance for Windows/VMware server and workstation environment, Dell EMC VNXe Storage Array Network, and all software used by the company, including ERP, BI, CRM, and finance systems 
  • Manage and maintain company intranet site 
  • Manage the Avaya telecommunication and Juniper/Brocade network systems on site, as well as the Verizon Wireless mobile solutions for 100+ users 
  • Resolve and document end user issues including PC hardware, software, printing, scanning, faxing, phone, connectivity, and network problems 
  • Design and test disaster recovery procedures for essential systems
  • Evaluate and implement document imaging solution for storage of invoices and bill of lading documents required by customers. 
  • Support PeopleNet in-cab solution for 400 company tractors nationwide 
  • Purchase equipment for employees and maintain inventory 
  • Develop improvements in systems or processes 
  • Educate users on security best practices and maintain all security updates for software and hardware. 
  • Manage projects and create documentation for any IT solutions required by the company 
  • Manages information security via firewall permission rules and software patches 
  • Research and make hardware and software purchasing recommendations 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Science 
  • Network knowledge and experience with TCP/IP protocols to manage and troubleshoot network environment 
  • Experience building, installing, and maintaining desktop machines 
  • Experience in providing remote support 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems in a domain environment 
  • Experience with VMware vSphere virtualization software 
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016/365 
  • Experience supporting Exchange Server 
  • Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server 
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp server 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP finance software 
  • Experience with TMW Suite software 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong understanding of IT networks and infrastructure 
  • Ability to troubleshoot system and network problems 
  • Experience with set up and support of mobile devices 
  • Ability to educate employees on new technologies 
  • Ability to work and interact effectively as a team member 
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours when necessary
