IT Specialist

At the core of our work is SENSEI®, a web-based, custom-built Energy Management Information System (EMIS) that helps our employees, clients, and partners visualize and act on live and historical energy data collected, in part, by sensors installed at thousands of sites in the US and Canada. We offer energy program design and delivery, project management and analysis, energy management services and software, and hands-on training and coaching.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We’re seeking an IT Specialist to join the Cascade IT team, working in close collaboration with our software development team. You will act as front-line user support for our internal and external customers, and as a liaison between customers and our design and development team.

You will have daily interactions with our internal and external customers:

answering questions about how to use the software and existing IT systems,
troubleshooting data-related questions and issues,
creating and enhancing standard documentation to assist with technical tasks and recurring issues,
offering one-on-one training and tutorials for our internal staff,
transforming mathematical formulas into XML-like code,
providing pre-release testing for new software features, bug patches, and upcoming releases, and
working with external customers’ IT staff and systems, to assist with supplying customer data over sFTP
In addition to user support and data integration, the IT Specialist is the primary author and custodian of documentation related to technical tasks and recurring issues. As a part of the larger IT team, you may also at times be called on to help out with more general company help desk and IT needs.

have experience working with IT staff on software systems, and have some comfort around the command line

are comfortable with numbers and data manipulation and are familiar with databases, spreadsheet tools, and relational data concepts
have a great attention to detail and a strong work ethic, with a passion for helping others
as a plus, have experience writing simple one-file scripts or are enthusiastic to learn
To be considered for this position, your resume should also demonstrate:

Work experience in a helpdesk or service role
Relevant academic and/or technical qualifications (college degree in a technical field or equivalent experience)
