LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A healthcare system in Indiana announced on Friday one of its vendors was hacked.

On Friday, IU Health announced in a news release its vendor Nuance Communications, who uses a software called MOVEit Transfer, was compromised in late May.

IU Health said some of its patients who received radiology services may have had their name, date of service, and reason and description of service taken.

IU Health said it was notified of the incident on Aug. 4, but just started notifying patients on Friday.

To prevent future incidents, IU Health said Nuance has implemented new security tools and procedures to enhance security.

IU Health’s closest facility is in Paoli, Indiana.
