Another 14-year-old girl goes missing from Birsanagar
Jamshedpur, June 15: In a shocking incident, a youth hailing from Bokaro was apprehended by the local authorities for allegedly abducting a minor girl. The incident has raised concerns over child safety and has sparked outrage among the community. The incident came to light when the girl’s family reported her missing and promptly notified the police.
A youth from Bokaro was arrested for allegedly abducting a minor girl from the RIT police station area in Adityapur in Seraikela-Kharsawan and another youth from Mango is absconding in a similar case during the past 24 hours here.
The police on Thursday arrested a youth identified as Vikash Kumar from sector VI of Bokaro following an FIR lodged by the girl’s father with the RIT police station on June 13.
The police have also succeeded to recover the minor girl from the clutch of the abductor who had abducted the victim for marriage purposes.
The RIT police succeeded to recover the girl and arrest the accused after the Seraikela-Kharsawan SP, Anand Prakash took a concerted effort soon after the FIR was lodged.
In the case registered with the RIT police station, the girl has been recovered, but in another case which has been registered with the Birsanagar police station, the abducted girl is traceless.
According to police, a 14-year-old girl who had come out of her home at Zone No 1 in Birsanagar on June 12 for attending her tuition did not return. The family members searched around for her, including at the relatives’ houses before lodging an FIR with the Birsanagar police station on Wednesday.
The police said, later on, the family members suspected that one Sandeep Dhabal Barua who is a resident of Gaur Bustee in Mango could have abducted the minor for marriage purposes. Presently, both the girl and the youth are missing.
