Japan Foods Holding Ltd’s staff reported on 19 January that they encountered issues with software application.

Yesterday, the company announced that in a ransomware attack, an unknown party gained unauthorised access to its servers and encrypted information therein.

Upon discovery of the incident, the company took immediate action to identify, contain and restore the affected servers. No evidence of data leakage or indications that any personal or sensitive information has been compromised as per the announcement.

While the incident impacted the data stored on servers, the group is in the process of restoring all data and believes there will be no material impact to its financial and operational performance. There has also been no business disruption arising from the cybersecurity incident.

To enhance their cybersecurity infrastructure, the management will conduct a rigorous review of the incident.
