The Board of Education’s for Jenks Public Schools and Owasso Public Schools are expected to discuss mask mandates at respective meetings Monday night.
Both districts have mask mandates in place for students and staff taking part in traditional learning at school sites.
In Jenks, the agenda for Monday’s meeting lists public comment from two people related to the mask mandate discussion. One person is expected to comment on support of the mask mandate, and a doctor is expected to discuss the best practices for mask mandates.
In Owasso, the agenda lists public comment from two doctors. A parent told News On 6 she invited the doctors to discuss mask mandates. Her goal is to get a different perspective on the district’s approach to handling classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agendas for the meetings in Jenks and Owasso do not indicate a vote taking place regarding mask policies.
