Physical Demands

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

DESCRIPTION The position will support the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Office of Compliance, Inspections and Examinations (OCIE) with a specific focus on working with the National Examinations Program (NEP). Duties will consist of receiving and processing on the behalf of examiners using the tools currently in use or projected for the team, including automated systems.

The NEP has four primary goals: 1) detect possible violations of the securities laws and regulations (including fraud); 2) foster strong compliance and risk management practices; 3) monitor risk; and 4) provide the SEC with information about the industry’s compliance and the implementation of rules and laws. The work environment will be dynamic, fast-paced and necessitate that the candidate demonstrate a highly responsive, customer-centric demeanor with SEC and contractor staff.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Information Systems or related experiences
  • Up to 3 years of experience in Information Security with experience in Cyber Security, Vulnerability Management, Security Configuration Management, Web Application Security, eGRC, security dashboards, security analytics and metrics development, 1+ years in audit, risk management, governance and/ or compliance function desire or a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, or Computer Science (or related field)
  • Integrate commercial and government cyber intelligence feeds into the platform
  • Team with data analysts, security SMEs to develop dashboards and produce key information for executive and leadership reporting and decision making
  • Work with teams to produce key security metrics
  • Produce trending and analytics on demand using legacy data for stakeholders including security resources and senior leadership
  • Engage where needed to implement ratings, risk rankings, and prioritization from both internal and external sources. Work with examination teams, including appropriate questioning of findings and discussions on justification
  • Work with external vendors and consultants on global delivery and implementation teams
  • Provide guidance on implementing Cyber security objectives and maintain mappings specific controls Qualifications
  • Ability to work with remote teams and work as self-directed to manage multi-task and prioritize projects workload, ability to execute pre-existing plans
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical, logical, and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
  • Travel, primarily locally to support Regional Office examination fieldwork
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to complete a SEC background clearance- NACLC
  • Emphasis must be placed on strong technical writing skills… that is a vital component to this position.
  • Being able to meet deadlines and collaborate on reports that require data analysis and strong writing.
  •  A Cyber security background also helps as does and understanding of the markets, but these are not required.
