Kaspersky Bolsters Saudi Cybersecurity with Regional HQ, Transparency Center, and Youth Training | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #ransomware

Kaspersky has officially been granted a Regional Headquarters License (RHQ) in Saudi Arabia by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Investment, marking a significant milestone in their commitment to enhancing the cybersecurity landscape within the Kingdom’s economic sectors. This strategic move not only strengthens Kaspersky’s presence in Saudi Arabia but also underscores their dedication to supporting the operational activities of the Kaspersky group of companies across the MENA region.

Expanding Footprint and Enhancing Security

The establishment of the Regional Headquarters is a testament to Kaspersky’s focused efforts on sustainable business development in Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region. With a concentrated approach on strategic development, threat research and analysis, and the delivery of tailored services such as Managed Detection and Response (MDR), powered by a Saudi-based Security Operations Center (SOC), and Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS CERT), Kaspersky is poised to elevate the cybersecurity readiness of the Kingdom. Their expansion in Saudi Arabia began in earnest in 2022 with the opening of a new office in Riyadh, further solidified by the inauguration of Kaspersky’s first Transparency Center in Riyadh in 2023 to serve the entire Middle East region.

Addressing Future Cybersecurity Challenges

As Saudi Arabia continues to embrace digital transformation, integrating technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence, the Kingdom becomes an increasingly attractive target for cybercriminals. Recognizing this, Kaspersky’s initiatives in the region are timely and critical. In addition to their operational and research-focused expansions, Kaspersky introduced the Cyber Generation training and internship program in Saudi Arabia in 2023. This program aims to nurture young talent, with or without a background in IT or cybersecurity, and to bolster cybersecurity awareness and defense capabilities against the backdrop of evolving cyber threats.

Empowering the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Experts

The Cyber Generation program represents a cornerstone in Kaspersky’s strategy to contribute to a robust cybersecurity infrastructure within the Kingdom. By educating and training young Saudis, Kaspersky is not only investing in the future cybersecurity workforce but also in the overall digital resilience of Saudi Arabia. This initiative complements the Kingdom’s vision to foster a digitally secure environment, mitigating the risks posed by the growing interest of cybercriminals in the rapidly advancing technological landscape of the region.

As Kaspersky strengthens its foothold in Saudi Arabia with its Regional Headquarters, Transparency Center, and youth-focused educational programs, the implications for the Kingdom’s cybersecurity landscape are profound. These developments not only demonstrate Kaspersky’s commitment to the region but also highlight the critical need for ongoing investment in cybersecurity infrastructure and education to navigate the complexities of the digital age. Through collaboration and innovation, Kaspersky and Saudi Arabia are setting a precedent for cybersecurity excellence in the MENA region, offering a blueprint for others to follow.
