Lagos partners police, FRSC on school safety | #schoolsaftey

The Lagos State Government has formed an alliance with the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps to sustain its safety programmes across schools in the state.

The Lead Resource of the Safe School Lagos Initiative, Dr Bisi Esuruoso, made this known on Tuesday, at the maiden Beacon of Safety Award Conference held in the state.

Esuruoso said the initiative was also exploring technology to implement its ongoing programmes.

She said, “The Safe School Lagos Initiative is engaging stakeholders in the technology sector to achieve its goals. We have a portal where we have already streamed every piece of information that the schools need in terms of safety. Once they are onboard, they can get all the information needed.

“We are also working with the police and the Federal Road Safety Corps and all the first responders to ensure that safety is entrenched in our schools.”

The state Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, commended Chibuikem Nwofor, an SS3 student and Head Boy of Dowen College, who was awarded as a Champion of Safety in schools and also for actively engaging in the safety of fellow students and staff in the school.
