Larry W. Hacker, 82 of Henderson NV, formerly of Sioux City passed away September 15 from complications of Agent Orange.

Larry was born October 20, 1940 to Chuck and Mary Fran (Underscheid) Hacker. He graduated from Heelan High in 1958, and Creighton University in 1962. In 1960 he enrolled in the Marine Corp officer’s candidate school. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt upon graduating from college. He served his country during the Vietnam War (14 months) as a helicopter pilot where he received a Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon returning back to the states he was stationed in Pensacola Fl. as a flight instructor. He retired from the USMC as a Lt. Col. He then went to work at Northwest Orient. Upon retiring from flying he retired to Henderson, NV.

He was united in marriage to Jessica Braunger, to this union four children were born. They later divorced.

He was united in marriage to Maureen on October 20th. They shared many things from birthdays to wedding anniversary, all October 20th.

He is survived by his wife Maureen, daughter Mary Eileen (John) Demos, sons Mark, Joseph, daughter Elizabeth, and step son Jason, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, siblings Gary and Jan Hacker, Bob and Maurine Hacker, all of Omaha, Mary Sam Hacker, Margie and John Fitch, Charlie and Mary Hacker all of Sioux City, along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held October 13 at 10 o’clock at St Gerald’s in Omaha.

He will be greatly missed by his family.
