Court documents showed a former teacher at St. John of Nepomuk Catholic School committed lewd acts with a 14-year-old student.The teacher involved, Samantha Brasses, was employed at the school for just one year between 2018 and 2019 and was charged in 2019 with unlawful communication with a minor. According to court documents, “Brasses pursued, groomed, and committed lewd acts while at St. John Nepomuk Catholic School, on campus during school hours.”The documents referred to the victim as John Doe and the suit alleges school staff knew about the abuse.Documents said, “A sexual predator repeatedly preyed on John Doe even after St. John Nepomuk Catholic School and Principal (NAME REDACTED) were notified of the sexual predator’s misconduct.”The documents showed on the date of the filing, the victim was 18 years old. Legally, the victim can file the lawsuit up to one year after he turns 18 before the statute of limitations runs out.KOCO 5 reached out to the school and the archdiocese for a comment but never heard back.
