The incident was reported to police by someone who said his mother “needed help” and that “it was an emergency,” Hayden’s office said. That witness reported a BMW parked in front of his mother with the windows down and was acting lewdly inside the car. “The witness smashed the passenger side top corner of the vehicle with a hammer, causing the windshield to shatter. Tomar quickly fled the area after,” Hayden’s office said.Another incident was reported on Oct. 9, in the area of Crescent Avenue. This time, Hayden’s office said witnesses reported a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Soon after, officers stopped Tomar at the corner of Dorchester and Crescent Avenues in a BMW with a shattered windshield. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, Hayden said. Tomar is a level 3 sex offender, which in Massachusetts means he was evaluated to have a high risk of re-offending. He served two sentences in the House of Corrections and his record of incidents date back to 2006, Hayden said. Tomar was charged charged with one count of open and gross lewdness and bail was set at $2,500 after his arraignment. His next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 10.
