- Police said the motive for the killing has not yet been established.
- The man is expected to appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
A Limpopo man has handed himself over to the police after he allegedly axed three of his family members to death.Â
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the suspect, 27, allegedly hacked his 59-year-old mother, 19-year-old sister and 10-year-old nephew with an axe on Monday at Breda village in Gilead outside Mokopane.
Ledwaba said community members alerted the police about the domestic violence at the house at about 11:00.
The man allegedly first attacked his mother, before going after his younger relatives.

Ledwaba said the three were certified dead by paramedics on the scene.
“He was arrested shortly [thereafter] near his home after he called the police. He handed himself over to the police,” said Ledwaba.
Three counts of murder are under investigation.
The motive has not yet been established.Â
“The deceased was identified as Johanna Seanego (mother), Matome Seanego (sister) and Tebogo Mashilo Seanego (nephew),” said Ledwaba.Â
The suspect is expected in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on three counts of murder.Â
