
EDWARDSVILLE – A Madison woman was charged Monday with failure to register as a sex offender and theft by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Romanita C. Rogers, 30, was charged July 31 with unlawful failure to register as a sex offender, a Class 3 felony, and retail theft under $300 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony.
The case was presented by the Collinsville Police Department.
According to court documents, on July 29 Rogers, who has no fixed address, allegedly failed to register with the Madison Police Department and took food and clothing items valued at less than $300 from the Collinsville Walmart.
She has a conviction for theft out of Madison County in 2015.
According to the Illinois State Police sex offender database, she is listed as a “noncompliant” sexual predator, with convictions for aggravated criminal sexual abuse. At the time of her offense, the victim was four years old, and she was 19.
Bail was set at $30,000.
Other felony charges filed July 31 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:
• Christine M. Macios, 64, and Marc K. Macios, 61, both of the same address in Collinsville, were each charged with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony; criminal damage to property over $500, a Class 4 felony; and criminal trespass to building, a Class B misdemeanor. The cases were presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department. According to court documents, on July 29 the two allegedly entered a home in Glen Carbon to commit theft and damaged a glass door at the residence. Bail was set at $50,000 each.
• Lenzie P. Allen, 53, of St. Louis, was charged with financial exploitation of an elderly person, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. According to court documents, on Nov. 25 Allen allegedly used a position of trust and confidence of an elderly person to use their assets, being a check for $2,500. Bail was set at $30,000.
• Willard L. Johnson Jr., 31, of Collinsville, was charged with theft under $500 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department. According to court documents, on July 29 Johnson allegedly took a bicycle valued at less than $500 from another person. It was noted he has a prior conviction for burglary out of Madison County in 2022. Bail was set at $30,000.
These individuals have only been charged and remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. All charges may not be reported.
