Man Arrested for Delivery and Possession of Sexually Explicit Material of a Minor | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

Yesterday, detectives in the Internet Crimes Against Children unit served an arrest warrant for a man who was determined to be in possession of approximately 10,000 child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files.

Around 5:00 a.m., police located the man and secured the building to place him into custody. The suspect was found hiding in a deep pile of clothing within the building.

A search of the suspect’s residence was conducted by ICAC detectives and Seattle officers in the Community Response Group. Our law enforcement partners King County Sheriff’s Office, Puyallup Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations, and Homeland Security Investigations assisted with this search.

Several digital storage devices containing CSAM and the location of a computer used to share the images were discovered. SPD ICAC Forensic Lab will complete the full forensic review of the digital devices to examine for additional CSAM evidence.

The 42-year-old male suspect was arrested for the delivery and possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He was booked into King County Jail.

Thank you to all our city and federal partners in assisting with this investigation and arrest.

This arrest is another example of the successful collaboration among members of the Washington State ICAC Task Force to identify a potential child predator in the Puget Sound region.
