Racine County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who led them on a chase with his children in the car. According to the sheriff’s office, Jordan Laycock-Barber tried to outrun deputies Thursday night just before 5:00 p.m. He already had a felony arrest warrant out on him before the chase. Deputies said Laycock-Barber flew through five stop signs and then got out of his car and ran before deputies arrested him. During the arrest, he told the deputies his two children were in the car. The 4-year-old and 7-year-old were not hurt. Deputies said they did not know the children were in the car during the chase. Laycock-Barber is facing a long list of charges:· Fleeing and Eluding· Child Neglect – two counts· First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety – two counts· Resisting/Obstructing· Criminal Damage to Property· Threats to Law Enforcement· Felony Bail Jump – four counts· Misdemeanor Bail Jump – two counts· Reckless Driving· Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed· Violation of a Child Safety Seat – two citations· Operating While Revoked· Failure to Stop at Stop Sign – five citations
