
Jim Martin, Mississippi State University associate vice president for corporate engagement and economic development and Mississippi Cyber Initiative lead, spoke to his fellow members of the Starkville Rotary Club on Monday about the rapidly developing cyber warfare scene.
When talking about cybersecurity, the retired Air Force general Martin told the Rotarians that it is embedded in every capability there is. When he came to MSU after he retired from the Air Force, he says he was fortunate to learn about the cybersecurity programs housed at the university.
“When you think about cyber warfare, every single one of us is impacted,” Martin said. “If you have a smartphone, cybersecurity is very important.”
As he went on, Martin dived into information on the Mississippi Cyber Initiative, which MSU leads for the state.
