If you’ve been trying to reach Metro Boomin, then you’ve likely been unable to reach him due to a massive hack.
The producer revealed on Twitter that he was recently the victim of someone getting into his phone and gaining access to his iCloud and Twitter accounts. According to the “We Don’t Trust You” hitmaker, someone from Canada is the culprit who got hold of his logins.
“jus got my phone # and accounts back today somebody hacked me the day the album dropped smh,” he shared in a Twitter update on Tuesday, April 2nd. “and all those corny ass tweets all my day 1s know that’s nowhere in my character. All positivity always on my end. We blessed. It’s all love #WeDontTrustYou.”

According to Metro, things became awkward days before his joint project with Future was unveiled when he began receiving calls back to back from phone numbers registered in Canada.
It all started 2 days before the album dropped and all these 416 numbers would call me back 2 back a million times. It got so bad I had to keep my phone on airplane mode pic.twitter.com/g0nUfdE03q

The mixtape dropped on March 20th, and Metro says that just two days later, he awoke to find a notice on his iPhone that stated he no longer had access to it and that he was signed out of iCloud.

This led to a snowball of events, including the hacker trying to purchase Balenciaga goods once they obtained access to his accounts and presumably some financial information. His personal shopper with the fashion brand began to unravel the mystery, sending Metro several screenshots of text messages they’d received from someone pretending to be him trying to make purchases.

The 30-year-old also clarified that while he has been tweeting from his Twitter account from an extra phone, the hacker also had access and was sending out posts as well.
this is why I never store any music or anything important on any digital cloud
I’m old school
I still keep hard drives in safes 🔒

I never said I didn’t tweet anything I’ve been tweeting from my other phone since the album dropped
I just realized late last night that they got in my socials as well and not just iCloud https://t.co/qPkBIclSIk

For now, it is unknown who the cyberpunk is, though many suspect it could be Drake. The men are rumored to be at odds. Future is also reportedly not speaking to Drizzy. However, no evidence has supported him having anything to do with the hack.
