WEST CHESTER — Authorities filed new charges against a Chester County man who had already been classified as a sexually violent predator during his prosecution for illegally contacting minors with sexual images and ordered not to use social media while under court supervision, according to court documents.
Tyshon Darique Perry, who was arrested and charged with allegedly soliciting minors for their naked images on Snapchat in July, was arrested Nov. 3 after investigators were able to identify six teenage girls with whom he had been exchanging indecent photos and discussing sex via the social media platform.
Perry, who was being held on $1 million bail on the charges from July, waived his preliminary hearing on the new allegations on Nov. 15. Magisterial District Judge Gregory Hines of Coatesville set bail on the matter at $750,000.
Chester County Detective Bernard Martin filed charges on multiple counts of unlawful contact with a minor involving sex offenses, and dissemination. Of sexual material with a minor, child pornography, displaying photographs of sex acts on a computer, and illegal contact with a minor in the case.
The new charges grew out of the same trove of photographic images and messages that were discovered on Perry’s cell phone during an interview with his probation officer from the county’s Adult Probation Office, Matt Gordon.
Gordon had sought to view the contents of his phone after Perry allegedly acknowledged that he had been communicating with teens about sexual matters during his court-ordered sex offender’s therapy in April. The phone was seized by detectives, who then began going through its contents.
According to Martin’s affidavit this month, the first search turned evidence of his contact with four child victims; further investigation identified six additional child victims that Perry allegedly contacted via Snapchat for the purpose of luring them out of their homes for sexual activity and obtaining explicit videos and photos of them, according to the affidavit.
Perry, 30, of Coatesville, would communicate with the girls — all between the ages of 14 and 17 — with his account “go2guyty,” or an alternate account in which he posed as a female, “Angela Simmons.” One of the alleged victims lives in New Jersey, and another is from Washington. The messages were sent between 2022 and 2023 when Perry was on court supervision for his 2022 conviction of sexual offenses. None were identified by name in the complaint.
An interview with the first victim revealed that she was 13 when she received more than 1,110 messages from Perry, including exchanges in which she discussed having rough sex with her, and in which he sent her explicit photos of himself.
The second girl said she was 15 when she communicated with Perry. Who asked if he could have sex with her. The third girl was 17 at the time they communicated in messages in which she sent naked photos of herself to him and he discussed having sex with her.
The fourth alleged victim was 13 when she communicated with Perry and sent him photos of herself, believing that he was a 15-year-old girl. She eventually blocked him because his chats “seemed weird,” she told Martin. The fifth girl was 14 and also sent him photos of herself. The chats showed that he was aware she was 14 years old, and asked her for “sexy pics.”
The sixth and final child in the complaint was identified through records as a 15-year-old from Washington. She said she sent him images of herself and that he responded with images of himself while naked. She said in an interview that Perry was aware that she was 15.
“The defendant posed as a teenager and solicited naked images from children and sent naked images of himself using Snapchat,” said District Attorney Deb Ryan in a news release announcing his arrest in July. “We believe there are more victims out there.”
