PUPILS at a Muir of Ord early learning and childcare centre have raised their profile courtesy of a gift from a Ross-shire business.

The children and childcare charity, Care and Learning Alliance (CALA) has welcomed the donation of child-sized high-visibility vests from Pat Munro (Alness) Ltd.

Through The Pat Munro Foundation, the children of CALA’s Muir of Ord early learning and childcare centre were the first to try the new vests, aimed at helping to ensure their safety whilst on their regular outdoor adventures.

Jaci Douglas, chief executive of CALA welcomed the donation adding: “Nurturing the development of children through outdoor play and learning is a key focus of our work. Children being more clearly visible in their vests means they are easily identifiable, enhancing child safety and staff confidence when out in the community.”

Kerry Wilkie, people and culture lead at Pat Munro, added: “We were delighted to donate the vests to CALA for young children to wear in outdoor activities across their early learning and childcare centres, keeping them safe and visible. You never know, we could be looking at our next set of apprentices!”

The Pat Munro Foundation has been created to support local communities, charities and worthy causes in the local area.

The Care and Learning Alliance has become a pillar of support for children and families throughout the Highland and Moray areas. With a network of members spanning across Scotland, CALA plays a key role in providing essential services to children and families supporting their well-being and development.
