LUBBOCK, Texas — The United States Marshals Service – North Texas Fugitive Task Force (NTFTF) has partnered with Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lubbock Police Department for the 8th annual Lubbock Tornado operation.
The operation targets registered non-compliant sex offenders in Lubbock, Texas, and Lubbock County.
The annual initiative has resulted in an increase in located sex offenders in compliance, and a substantial decrease in non-compliance.
Out of the 479 encountered sex offenders, 18 were found to be non-compliant with the State of Texas sex offender registry requirements. The operation led to 13 arrests and multiple investigations have been generated for non-compliant offenders.
More arrests are expected to follow as a result of this operation.
