EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (July 17, 2023) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has appointed Tiffany Morris, DNP, M.S. Ed., MSN, BSN, director of nursing and Clara Adams Endowed Professor for the School of Nursing in the John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences, effective July 1.
“We are excited to have Dr. Morris join the Hairston College Leadership team,” said Elimelda Moige Ongeri, Ph.D., Hairston College dean. “Her experiences and background in nursing education position her to guide the School of Nursing at a time of much growth in enrollment, expansion of clinical research, and development of graduate programs.”
Morris brings more than 30 years of experience in the nursing leadership, education, research and practice community. She previously served N.C. A&T’s School of Nursing as clinical assistant professor and interim dean. She most recently served at the Elon University School of Health Sciences as associate professor and its nursing program’s inaugural department chair.
She serves as chair of the Reidsville Area Foundation Board of Directors and is an executive committee member of the Board of Directors for AuthoraCare in Greensboro, North Carolina, and UNC Health Rockingham in Eden, North Carolina.

The school has an amazing team of faculty, staff, and students who continue to demonstrate commitment and compassion to advancing health equity.”
Morris is a member of the 2021 UNC Faculty Fellows program and received her BSN from University of Virginia. She earned an M.S. in nursing, M.S. in education and Doctor of Nursing Practice in executive leadership from Grand Canyon University. Her doctoral work and research interests focus on end-of-life care as a health disparity among African Americans, complementing her work to promote health and wellness within underserved communities.
Some of her previous awards and achievements include Design Thinking Community of Practice Scholar, Elon University (2023), Service-Learning Scholar, Elon University (2022-23), and 2022 Nurse Leader of the Year for Carolina Nurses League.
Morris is a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau – Mu Tau Chapter, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and the National League of Nursing.
