Network Support Administrator

This position’s responsibility will be to act as primary support contact for network operations support issues and requests at Tesla data centers, HQ locations, retail stores, and factories worldwide. This position will work with both internal customers or other IT staff to ensure tasks and incidents are responded to and addressed quickly and accurately. This position will take ownership of high-visibility issues, making sure that customer communication is maintained and the issues are resolved successfully. The Network Support Administration will identify and document root causes of failure as appropriate.
The Network Support Administrator will work to ensure they maintain up to date knowledge of new locations, hardware, topologies, and configurations deployed by the Network build team and Retail IT team in order to effectively support Tesla’s network operations.
As needed, the support team will help maintain internal tools and monitoring software, keeping them up to date with inventory and topologies. This includes solarwinds, airwatch, lighthouse, netbrain, and others.
Respond to and/or delegate day-to-day network support requests from both business customers and IT peers. Requests can range from investigating performance problems, troubleshooting hardware failures, developing and implementing device configuration changes, and opening cases with vendor TAC groups. Areas of responsibility include switches, routers. stateful firewalls, wireless controllers and access points, SSL VPN’s, and any other device that provides network services.
Use proper change control procedures to document and open change requests for production-impacting changes. Ensure work is completed and CR’s are closed properly.
Monitor network systems and circuits as part of proactive approach to maintaining high level of service.
May require unscheduled afterhours work. 25% travel required as necessary.
Job Experience:
3+ years experience in Network Engineering is a must. Advanced experience in the following preferred:
Experience with troubleshooting IP protocols
Experience with Juniper and Palo Alto Networks equipment
Experience with Aruba and Cisco wireless products
Experience with VOIP, VPNs and security protocols
Experience with centralized device monitoring and management tools
Degree in IS/IT program or equivalent in relevant work experience
Evidence of exceptional ability
One or more of the following certifications is preferred: JNCIA, JNCIP, CCNA, CCNP
