Over the past several weeks, one of the most repetitive crimes being investigated by the New Lenox Police Department involves identity theft. Practically every week, people all over town alert the police department that their credit cards were stolen or that someone was making purchases in their name, without their permission. On Thursday night, a New Lenox woman, 39-year-old Amy Masielski was taken into custody. She’s accused of being an identity thief in New Lenox, and she also lives here.
Masielski, who lives in the 100 block of Wallace Street, finds herself charged with two felonies, possessing lost credit cards and also having identification she knew was stolen.
On Saturday morning, Masielski remained incarcerated at the Will County Jail. Her bond was set at $50,000. She needs to come up with $5,000 cash to get herself out of jail.
