Susquehanna Township police have arrested a Bronx, New York man on forgery and identity theft charges.
Robert Chappelle, 56, is accused of opening an account at Member’s 1st Federal Credit Union on Linglestown Road using a fake Pennsylvania Driver’s license. Chappelle applied for and received the loan from the bank using another person’s information, police said.
Chappelle attempted to transfer the money to another account, police said. He was taken into custody with other fraudulent items that had not been issued to him.
Chappelle is charged with four counts of forgery and four counts of identity theft, all felonies. He is being held at Dauphin County Prison on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 4 before District Judge James Lenker.
