Noel Clarke sues Guardian for £10m over ‘sexual predator’ claim | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

The actor Noel Clarke faced a “trial by media” after allegations of sexual misconduct were published by The Guardian, the High Court was told.

Clarke, 47, is suing the newspaper’s owner, Guardian News & Media, over eight articles, including one published in April 2021 containing allegations from 20 women.

Clarke, whose credits include Kidulthood, Adulthood and the television series Bulletproof, has “vehemently” denied any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing.

In March last year Scotland Yard said it had looked into the claims but had opted against starting a criminal investigation after ruling that it did not meet the threshold. Clarke appeared at the High Court yesterday for a preliminary libel hearing as he seeks more than £10 million in damages as a result
