Nonprofit fighting for embattled families opens new Augusta facility | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing

A child advocacy group’s new headquarters not only advances the nonprofit’s mission but stands as a testament to the Augusta area’s financial generosity, the group’s executive director said Thursday.

The nonprofit Child Enrichment cut the ribbon Wednesday on its new home at 2300 Walden Dr., which is next-door to the agency’s old home and more than triple its size.

Child Enrichment serves three judicial circuits in nine counties to help children and their families overwhelmed by abuse and neglect. Its chief programs are the Child Advocacy Center and the Court Appointed Special Advocate program. The CAC assist families amid allegations of child abuse. CASA trains judge-appointed volunteers to represent the best interests of children in juvenile court cases.
