UTICA, N.Y. — Mohawk Valley Community College’s growing cyber security program has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.
This certification was given by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security.
To receive this designation, the program must have state-of-the-art physical and virtual labs, as well as transfer agreements with local four year schools like SUNY Poly and Utica College.
In the last three years, MVCC’s program has grown from 26 students to more than 130.
They will also be offering a camp for high school students next week.
