The homeless, convicted sex offender who had been terrorizing women in the East Village was jailed less than a day after The Post published an expose about his terrifying behavior, authorities said.

The unhinged vagrant, Fritz Marseille, was off the streets and in custody on July 16, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office confirmed.

Marseille, 38, was immediately sentenced to 15 days in jail at Rikers Island for forcible touching and harassment after violating the terms of an earlier plea deal, DA spokesman Douglas Cohen said.

“Within 24 hours of breaking the story, this criminal was arrested and put behind bars — where he belongs,” a delighted Kristen Booth said, adding, “Wellmotherf–king done NY Post!”

Booth, 49, alleged Marseille lurked behind her last month and announced, “I’m going to f–king rape you.” She lodged five police complaints against Marseille since September 2020.

Marseille, who spent five months in jail last year for allegedly groping two women — hung out between East Third Street and East Fifth Street along Second Avenue, allegedly accosting women who ignored his advances, witnesses said.

Neighbor Christine Rucci, 60, ripped Marseille as a “predator” and a “ticking time bomb,” and said his disturbing behavior included drug dealing, urinating, defecating, and masturbating.

A worker at nearby Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen called Marseille “insane,” and said frightened women have periodically ducked into the pub to escape the vagrant’s verbal abuse.

Marseille has seven sealed cases, according to the state Office of Court Administration.

He’s been arrested twice, according to the NYPD, for groping the rear ends of two different women and pleaded guilty in both cases.

He was required to complete a counseling program with Queens Counseling for Change — who said its clientele includes individuals with “problematic sexual behaviors” and “anger management issues” — according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

But he failed to appear in court on June 1 for compliance, which triggered a warrant for his arrest, authorities said.
