SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – If you’re looking for some safe Halloween fun for your family, look no further.
“Don’t Get Spooked! Stay Safe!” is just what the doctor ordered.
Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween than on any other day of the year, according to the National Safety Council.
It is important to know essential safety information, especially when it comes to costume and traffic safety.
Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport invites you for a spooky good time for both adults and children promoting safety during Halloween. It’s the “Don’t Get Spooked! Stay Safe!” event.
Bonnie Hughes joined KSLA in the KSLA Cafe on Thursday to discuss safety during Halloween while still having a good time.
Don’t Get Spooked! Stay Safe!” will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport’s St Mary’s Medical Center. It is free and open to the public.
We asked Hughes whether it will be held indoors or outside and whether parents will be dressing up.
We also asked her to talk about the resources that will be there. Representatives of several community resource organizations will be in attendance. There also will be a station where people can get their child safety seats checked.
