CHENNAI: A 25-year-old man was hacked to death by an unidentified gang near Thirukazhukundram late Saturday night.
Police identified the deceased as Kanniyappan of Thirukazhukundram. On Saturday at 2 am, he was returning home from his office in Oragadam. When he was near the Chinna Irumbedu village panchayat office, an unidentified gang attacked him with knives. When he tried to flee, the gang hacked him to death.
Based on information, the police rushed to the spot and recovered his body. It was sent to Chengalpet Government Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered. Police said they are analysing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
