

CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — A man from Orange was killed in a weekend crash in Culpeper County.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday on James Madison Highway just north of the intersection with Madison Road.
A 1993 Ford Ranger heading north of James Madison Highway failed to maneuver a curve and crossed a double solid yellow line.
It hit a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Malibu head-on, causing the Ford to catch fire.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 45-year-old David W. McDaniel, Jr. of Orange. He died at the scene of the crash.
A 38-year-old woman from Remington who was a passenger in the Ford was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say it has not been determined if either person in the Ford was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 20-year-old woman from Culpeper was taken to UVA Health with life-threatening injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 22-year-old man from Bealeton, is also being treated at UVA with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
A second passenger in the Chevrolet, a 10-month-old girl, suffered minor injuries. She was properly restrained in a child safety device.
The crash remains under investigation.
