First Dates star CiCi Coleman has opened up about dating in lockdown, admitting she’s turned to technology in a bid to bag a man.

Speaking about her dating life, CiCi, who is currently appearing on First Dates Hotel on Channel 4, revealed she’s making more “meaningful and deep connections” through dating apps.

“Since lockdown began, I’ve been chatting to a few people and have been on a few video dates myself!,” she said.

“I feel like being able to get to know someone virtually before you meet up in real life has really helped me make more meaningful and deep connections.”

CiCi Coleman opened up about her recent dating escapades, admitting she thinks virtual dating is having a positive impact

And since she hasn’t been dating in real life, the blonde bombshell confessed it’s been way more “refreshing” talking to people online.

“I’ve found I’m a lot more honest and upfront about what I’m looking for, which is what Badoo is all about, it’s been really refreshing.

“I do think virtual dating is having a positive impact on the dating scene at the moment – it feels like people are making more of an effort, spending more time getting to know each other and being more creative with how they approach dating.”

And it would appear that this period of online dating in lockdown has had a positive effect on dating behaviours.

The First Dates star revealed she’s been enjoying video dates in lockdown

According to Badoo, over half (57%) claim this period of digital courtship has resulted in changes to their own personal dating behaviours, and of these, three quarters (76%) say they now want to really get to know a match better before considering meeting.

Further user data suggests that minds are starting to shift from the new normal of virtual dating to dating in real life again, with 73% happy to meet in person for a date when they can.

While things may be hotting up online for singletons, it could be a while before couples living in separate households are allowed to get hot and heavy between the sheets.

Singletons are now able to meet potential matches face-to-face – but within a socially distanced two-metre setting.

The Government rolled out new lockdown guidelines which outline how couples that aren’t living together can no longer meet in any private place, resulting in a sex ban for lovebirds.
