Oregon-Davis School Board Discusses School Safety – WKVI Information Center | #schoolsaftey

The Oregon-Davis School Board discussed the Centegix CrisiAlert system during their most recent meeting.

Superintendent Bill Bennett issued this statement. “Given the unique rural demographics of Oregon-Davis School Corporation, the Oregon-Davis School Board started implementing the Centegix Crisis Alert in January. We are excited to begin full implementation of the Centegix CrisisAlert system which aims to improve emergency response times, enhance communication among stakeholders and ultimately increase the safety and security of individuals within our schools.”

Centegix CrisisAlert is designed to enhance safety and security in schools by providing a comprehensive system that improves emergency response and situational awareness. CrisisAlert offers a panic button feature that allows students, teachers and staff to quickly and discreetly send alerts when they encounter an emergency situation. With just a press of a button on a wearable device or a mobile app, an immediate alert is sent to designated personnel, enabling a swift response.

The system also utilizes a Real-Time Location System (RTLS) to track the precise location of individuals wearing CrisisAlert badges or using the mobile app. This information helps responders identify the exact location of individuals in distress, expediting the response process and improving overall safety. CrisisAlert’s incident management dashboard provides real-time updates on incidents and the location of affected individuals. Authorized personnel can monitor and manage emergency situations from a centralized platform, facilitating a coordinated response among staff, security personnel, and first responders.

The system integrates with the school’s existing security infrastructure, such as video surveillance, access control systems and mass notification systems. This integration enhances the effectiveness of these systems, enabling a more comprehensive and streamlined approach to school safety.

Finally, CrisisAlert improves communication and collaboration during emergencies by providing notifications and alerts to various devices, including desktop computers, mobile phones and public address systems. This ensures that relevant personnel are promptly informed about the situation, enabling a faster and coordinated response.

Superintendent Bennett stated, “By implementing Centegix CrisisAlert badges at Oregon-Davis, we have significantly improved the safety and security of our students, teachers and staff, with a simple push of a Centegix Crisis Alert Button/Badge. The system enables quick and discreet emergency reporting, precise location tracking, coordinated response efforts, integration with existing security infrastructure and enhanced communication, all of which contribute to creating a safer learning environment.”
