247Sports’ Take: With an open date last Saturday to let Oct. 17’s 41-24 loss at Alabama marinate, Georgia ground out a 14-3 win over Kentucky, giving the Bulldogs the bounce-back victory. While the path there offensively was not pretty, with fourth-year junior quarterback Stetson Bennett completing 9 of 13 passes (69.2 percent) for 131 yards and zero touchdowns to two interceptions, a stout effort defensively told another story, limiting the Wildcats on 229 total yards (91 passing, 138 rushing).
“I thought that Eddie (Gran) did a really nice job of limiting our possessions offensively by what they did with the quarterback and the quarterback runs. He’s really big. They’re really big up front and they’re really good at running the ball. I know they didn’t score but three points but they maintained the ball and were able to have success there rushing it. Always tough to defend these guys. But our kids were resilient, our kids responded. Tough environment to play in and I’m really happy about the way we responded, came out, had the opening drive the second half was big.”
