Paxton Police Blotter: Chicago man nabbed in online child predator sting | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing


PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department released the following list of recent activity:

— Sebastian A. Burgrabe, 34, of Paxton, was arrested on a pair of warrants — including one out of Ford County for failure to appear in court for making a false report of an offense and one out of McLean County for failure to appear in court for larceny – after Paxton police, who were aware that he was wanted on the warrants, found him in the 600 block of East Center Street around 5:24 p.m. Tuesday, May 21.

Anthony M. Olivera, 32, of Chicago

— Anthony M. Olivera, 32, of Chicago, was arrested for traveling to meet a minor, indecent solicitation of a child, solicitation to meet a child, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful transportation of adult-use cannabis around 10:55 p.m. Monday, May 20, in the 500 block of John Street on Paxton’s southwest side. Olivera began communicating online on March 9 with an undercover Paxton police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl and eventually arranged to come to Paxton to meet her for sex. Inside the 2017 Chevrolet Volt that Olivera drove to Paxton, police found a loaded pistol — a Taurus Millennium G2 — along with a cannabis vape pen, condoms and a large amount of snacks he brought with him. The vehicle was impounded by police under city ordinance.

— Zachary L. Clark, 33, of Massena, N.Y., was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and ticketed for disobeying a stop sign during a traffic stop at 10:26 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the 400 block of South Railroad Avenue. The traffic stop was conducted after Paxton police allegedly saw Clark disobey a stop sign. During the traffic stop, police confirmed that Clark’s Illinois driver’s license was suspended. The 2008 Dodge Avenger that Clark was driving was seized by police under city ordinance.

— Charles R. Mikita, 57, of Paxton, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license during a traffic stop at 5:48 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the intersection of Union and Summer streets on the city’s southeast side. The traffic stop was conducted after Paxton police, who were aware that Mikita’s Illinois driver’s license was suspended for operating an uninsured vehicle, saw Mikita driving a 2013 Ford Focus away from the Dollar General store on Railroad Avenue. The vehicle was impounded by police under city ordinance.

— Vernon E. Sutherland, 51, of Paxton, was arrested on a Ford County warrant for failure to appear in court for driving with a suspended driver’s license at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, May 18, after Paxton police were advised of the warrant and found him walking in the 400 block of South Railroad Avenue.
