Kothamangalam: An attempt was made to kill a photographer who had come to buy things at a supermarket in the city. Kozhipilly native Saju (57), owner of Style Photo studio, was hacked with a knife. The accused, Biju Kurian (51) was taken into custody.
The incident happened on Sunday evening. The police said that the accused had come to the supermarket looking for his wife (an employee there). He was reportedly shouting obscenities and threatening his wife with a knife. Saju, who witnessed all this, tried to intervene and was hacked, police said.
Saju blocked the knife that was aimed at his head with his right hand. He was admitted to the ICU of Mar Baselios hospital here and will need to undergo surgery. The accused will be presented in court soon.
