Pitt secures verbal commitment from Michigan high school safety Elijah Dotson | #schoolsaftey

Pitt continued a productive recruiting week Saturday when 2025 high school defensive back/wide receiver Elijah Dotson verbally committed to the Panthers while considering 21 scholarship offers.

Dotson is the sixth member of Pitt’s class of 2025.

Dotson, who attends Belleville High School in Detroit, is ranked the No. 10 overall prospect in Michigan and the No. 98 wide receiver in the nation, according to He has a three-star rating from Rivals, four-star from 247Sport.

He is expected to play on the defensive side of the ball in college after he made 68 tackles, with three interceptions, for Belleville last season. He also recorded 43 receptions for 1,653 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns.

Several high-profile schools were competing for Dotson’s commitment, including Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Purdue, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi secured two other verbal commitments over the past week from Thomas Jefferson offensive lineman Shep Turk and running back Tony Kinsler of Port Orange, Fla.
