Police are warning parents of children with iPhones about a potential safety concern.

The recent iOS 17 update has a feature called “NameDrop,” which allows iPhone users to share photos and contact information simply by holding the phones close together.

This features is turned on by default, and could pose a threat to children’s safety by making personal information easily available.

To disable NameDrop, go to the phone’s settings and click on “General,” then “AirDrop,” then “Bringing Devices Together” and switch it to “OFF.”
