Police seek public’s help in identifying man who tried to steal identities of bank customers in Fontana

Police are seeking the public’s help in trying to identify a suspect who attempted to steal the identities of bank customers at ATMs in Fontana.

On June 28, during the late evening hours, an unknown suspect entered a Bank of America ATM lobby in Fontana.
The suspect proceeded to attach skimming devices to each ATM with the intention of collecting personal banking information from innocent customers. Hidden cameras were also wired into the machines to capture the PIN numbers entered into the keypad.

However, alarms at the bank foiled the suspect’s plans and the skimming devices were recovered.
The P.D. is hoping that residents can identify the suspect depicted in a photograph at the ATM along with his vehicle.

Any information related to this case can be directed to Detective Bowie at (909) 356-7148 or his e-mail at bbowie@fontana.org.
