The safety initiative for Drowning Prevention Week follows several tragedies in the River Thames, Bray Lake and Jubilee River in recent years.
Students from All Saints, Larchfield and Braywick Court schools attended the water safety assembly hosted by Leisure Focus on Friday (June 23).
The leisure centre operator has been promoting a water safety campaign which was supported by the Advertiser and other organisations.
Several water safety assemblies were delivered to primary school children across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead last week, covering essential safety messages regarding water and the hazards associated with being near open water.
The primary goal was to increase awareness of water safety and ensure students understood what actions to take when someone is in danger in the water.
Sports inclusion and participation manager Jatinder Rakhra said: “The campaign has seen a positive response from the community.”
The Leisure Focus-led campaign saw a hard-hitting video, produced by Drowning Prevention Week organiser the Royal Life Saving Society UK, widely shared.
