Prince Harry ‘told Queen he’d name child after her’ says expert
PRINCE CHARLES “made enormous efforts” to alter his parenting style despite Prince Harry’s claims, a royal expert has said. Harry is currently enjoying fatherhood. His wife Meghan Markle gave birth to a daughter named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on June 4. Lilibet weighed seven pounds and 11oz and the family released a statement on their Archewell website to thank their fans and well wishers.
During his visit to a Mini car factory in Oxford, Charles said the arrival of baby Lili was “such happy news”.
He said: “Something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time.
“Such happy news really does remind one of the necessities of continued innovation in this area.

Lilibet’s arrival appears to be the olive branch that was needed to heal tensions between Harry and Charles following the fallout of the Duke of Sussex’s explosive claims about his upbringing and in particular, the neglect he felt from his father as he was growing up.
He was just 12 years old when he lost his mother Diana, Princess of Wales and in March the world heard a first-hand account of the Duke’s true feelings.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the TV legend asked: “Tell me how someone like you, like Prince Harry who lives a life of privilege, raised in a palace – literally – tell me how you are ‘trapped?’”

Prince Charles said the arrival of Lilibet Diana is “such happy news”
Harry’s response was simply: “Trapped within the system of the Royal Family.
“Like the rest of my family are.
“My brother and my father, they are trapped.”
Harry further explained that he felt it was “wrong” having to walk behind his mother’s coffin and in his Apple TV+ documentary he went further still as he suggested he realised after taking “ancestral healing” classes that Charles “failed to break the cycle” of generational trauma within the Royal Family.

However, Tom Quinn, royal author of ‘Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir’ believes that Charles went to “enormous efforts” to alter his parenting style after Diana’s death.
In the documentary ‘Prince Charles & Harry: Father and Son Divided’ Mr Quinn said: “Charles made enormous efforts to do a lot more for the boys, to spend more time with them, to go to various events with them, and that was all to the good I think that worked very well.”
Angela Levin, royal expert and author of ‘Harry: Conversations with the Prince’, suggested that Charles went to great lengths to make sure his son was happy.
She added: “Charles arranged for the Spice Girls to meet Harry and, for a 12-year-old, this was beyond exciting and they were very nice to him, they cuddled him and gave him lots of pictures.

“And [Harry] said to his dad ‘this is one of the best days of my life’ meeting them, so he did try.
“Although he seemed to be a bit square, the Spice Girls at the time were all the thing and Charles did try and do something that would please Harry and give him happiness.”
Harry relocated to California after he stepped down from royal duties in 2020.
He and Meghan expressed their reasons for leaving royal life behind, for Meghan it was about her mental health and alleged racism while Harry felt it was childhood trauma.

Recently Ms Levin indicated that Harry is still tormented by his final memories of his mother which is why the Sussexes chose the name, Lilibet Diana.
She said: “The choice of names could be Harry’s way of reminding everyone that his daughter is a royal.
“More than that, choosing the middle name Diana will be heaven for Harry because I believe it will help him heal.
“Harry is still tormented by the last phone conversation he had with Diana prior to her death in August 1997.

“On the day, Diana telephoned to speak to him and William at Balmoral, Harry was in the middle of a very exciting game with his cousins.”
Harry talked about the day in 2017 when he appeared in ITV’s ‘Our Mother Diana: Her Life and Legacy.’
The prince recalled: “If I’d known that that was the last time I was going to speak to my mother … the things I would have said to her.”
