If you’re a new parent or just purchased a new child car safety seat, the Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department can help make sure those seats are installed properly.
The department will be holding a free event to teach parents and caregivers how to install child safety seats in their vehicles.
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 11 at Fire Station 4, 20155 S. Signal Butte Road.
Seats are inspected for Queen Creek residents by appointment only. Registration is required. Participants will need to bring their own car seats and the instructions that came with the seat.
Residents should not arrive unannounced at a fire station to have a car seat installed, as not all firefighters are trained in the task.
If residents need help obtaining a child safety seat, QCFMD has a limited quantity available. Call the fire administration number at 480-644-2400 to make the request.
To make an appointment and reserve a time slot for the event, visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/ChildSeatSafety.
